This course applies economic concepts to decisions affecting a firm’s profit. Topics include supply and demand, elasticity and market power, competition, pricing strategies, boundaries of the firm, economies of scale and scope, make versus buy decisions, transaction costs, information, game theory, entry and exit strategies and competitive analyses.
The learning objective is to understand intra-organizational concepts that influence individual behaviour and human resource management. Topics include motivation, job satisfaction, agency theory, decision-making, group dynamics, recruitment strategies, compensation, training, and performance evaluation.

This course is devoted to structuring accounting information for use by managers in making decisions. Topics include cost-volume-profit analysis, product costing, capital budgeting, activity-based costing, theory of constraints, balanced scorecard and economic value added.

The main focus of this course is to establish understanding of the complexity and the multidisciplinary of strategic management decisions. During this module, business transactions are simulated by means of a computer-aided business game. Via this business game, the participants learn to make complex leadership decisions. In doing so, they have to recognize and master company-internal as well as company-external networks.

The purpose of this course is to teach participants the skills and abilities necessary to develop a business plan in a corporate environment. Participants learn to estimate the demand of a market for goods and services and to translate this demand into a concrete product submitted by their company to possible investors. Additionally, relevant questions of budgeting, financing and risk management are discussed. The business plan, developed, presented and defended in this course is the “Master Thesis” of the MBA program.
